The mission of Papercut is to provide a journal made exclusively for student and alumni writers from USFSP. By doing this, we hope to encourage new writers through publication as well as celebrating professionals. We believe that creativity is something to be cultivated on a campus.

Papercut is sponsored by the Sigma Tau Delta (English Honor Society) chapter at USFSP, Alpha Xi Phi, and is entirely student-run. The journal began in Fall 2016 but was revived by a new team in Spring 2017, when the first volume of Papercut was printed.  The hope is to publish every spring to encourage student writing and creativity.

While the deadline for this edition has ended, Papercut is accepting submissions for the spring publication. Submissions are open to undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni. Students can submit through the submission form on our website here. The editors are looking for poetry, fiction, nonfiction, academic essays, prose and even plays.

Alpha Xi Phi and Papercut host workshops every Thursday at 5 p.m. in the upstairs Harbor Hall conference room. During this time, you can sit down with the editors and English majors to receive constructive criticism on your piece. Everyone is free to attend.
